I am reading
The Wishing Year by Noelle Oxenhandler. It is about a year in which she uses the concept of "Putting It Out There" to obtain her heart's desire: to buy a home, find love, and be spiritually healed. She also analyzes the nature of hoping and wishing. It's a little like "the power of positive thinking" and
The Secret. I just started the book, but supposedly she gets everything she wanted that year.
I downloaded the book on my Kindle for 9.99. I am enjoying the Kindle so far-- it makes reading in bed so easy since you can cuddle in the blankets and you just need one arm to hold the device. My only complaint is that you can't see the cover which is something I love about books. Also, you don't know what page you're on, and it's difficult to flip back and forth between pages, which I do often. I think the benefit of having multiple books all on one device will outweigh those factors. It will never replace books, but it is very cool. The only problem is that I was getting good at checking out books at the library and now I'm spending money buying books for my Kindle. It is just too tempting to be able to download the book instantly. So, when my birthday comes around and you want to get me a gift, buy my an amazon.com gift certificate! ; )
