A sunny weekend...

This weekend, the sun decided to come out and warm us up after the snow melted. Ken and I took Zooey out to Central Market to sit in the sun and let her watch the kids playing in the park. She loves watching the kids on the playscape and squeals with excitement, pumping her arms up and down. It was so nice to feel the sun again, and to get out. She loves being outdoors. And Central Market is a great place for families- sun, a place for kids to play, beer, wine and food, and music on the weekends. It's one of our favorite places to go.

Today, it was back to the park, this time to San Gabriel, to take a walk and go get ice cream. Everyone was out enjoying the weather. I don't know if I'll ever get used to the Texas weather; it could be 80 at noon and then 20 degrees later the same day once a cold front comes through. As they say, " if you don't like the weather in Texas, just wait...it'll change!"

I am so in love with this sweetpea!!! Zooey is getting so cute, I can barely deal with it. She claps and squeals with she's excited, laughs and babbles all the time, and is very entertaining in general. One of her favorite things to do is to fall backward in my arms so I will roll her up and kiss her belly...then, she laughs hysterically. Being a mom is seriously the best!! I am madly in love!

What I'm Reading Now...

I recently picked up A Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart from the library. It's about a futuristic world in which America is no longer a superpower, and the dollar is backed by the Chinese Yuan. The main character is unattractive and unhealthy, but still values books in a world where no one reads and they think books stink, literally. It's not my typical choice of genre, but it's pretty satirical, and makes you think about a world in which everyone wants to live forever, there is no privacy, America is no longer desirable, and Media and Credit are the most coveted jobs. Plus, girls wear onionskin jeans...read the book to find out what they are-- pretty funny. I'm going to stick with it; I think I'll end up really liking it.
